Old Haleians' Association

Begin the Celebrations

On 28 June 1858, Bishop Mathew Hale opened the Bishop's Collegiate School on the site of The Cloisters building in St Georges Terrace, Perth . The School began with 22 students and it is this institution that is the fore-runner of our Hale School of today.

As one of the oldest schools of its type in Australia , it is appropriate that we celebrate its 150th year in 2008 in style. A number of functions and other activities have been planned and these are listed in the events calendar which can be viewed through the accompanying links.

However, the main Old Haleians function is to be held on Saturday 15 March (the day after the traditional Old Boys' Day) and is entitled "Hale The Celebration". The function will begin at 5pm with a brief ceremony at The Cloisters site where a life-sized bronze statue of Bishop Hale will be unveiled, commissioned by the Old Haleians' Association. Guests will then be transported by a fleet of coaches past the Havelock Street site and on to the Wembley Downs Campus for further formalities and celebrations.

Details of the purchase of tickets and other information will be available soon through this website and will also be posted out to all Old Haleians in the New Year.
