Old Haleian launches Medical Board of Australia’s latest accredited CPD Home
31Jan2025

Old Haleian Dr Hamish Newman (2009-13) and his colleague, Dr Tristan Dale, are making waves in the medical community.

Hale alumni Dr Hamish Newman (2009-13) and his colleague, Guildford Grammar School Alumnus Dr Tristan Dale, are making waves in the medical community with the launch of CPD Australia, an innovative and cost-effective CPD home designed to support doctors in meeting their professional development requirements.

The move comes after the Medical Board of Australia mandated that all doctors log their CPD on a dedicated platform, called a CPD Home, starting in 2024. Prior to this, doctors kept track of their own CPD.

This dynamic duo, both doctors-in-training, identified a need for a streamlined and more affordable alternative to traditional CPD Home providers. Their platform, launched in November 2024, offers annual memberships starting at just $109 per year, making it the cheapest option on the market.

CPD Australia is the latest CPD Home to gain approval from the Australian Medical Council, standing out for its simplicity, affordability, and accessibility—qualities that reflect its founders’ dedication to supporting their peers.

A Proud Moment for Hale

As the Old Haleians' Association celebrates the achievements of its alumni, Dr Newman's attributes much of this success story to the leadership, resilience, and innovation fostered from his time at Hale School. By offering a platform that simplifies compliance and with lowers costs, CPD Australia is set to make a lasting impact on the medical community—and it all began with a Hale education.
