            FOR YEAR 12S

            WITH HALE58

From humble beginnings five years ago as
a concept, the Hale58 program has grown
year on year to become an integral part of
the Hale School culture and integrated into
the journey of our Year 12 students. Originally
designed as a program of study sessions
to support the students’ academic progress
and wellbeing throughout their vital final year at
school, the initiative has accomplished this and more
            throughout its evolution.

In designing the Hale58 program, several benefits were included
            in the sessions such as:
            • enhanced curriculum opportunities through extra student

Further to these planned benefits, several other positive and Research
outcomes have resulted from student participation in the
Hale58 program. Pleasingly, the students have created a strong
sense of community from the collective efforts of their cohort,
which has in turn produced a supportive and collaborative
environment to succeed. This closer connection to the School
has also led to strong bonds been between the day and
boarding students through the after-hours campus experience
provided. Students have also experienced an environment of
autonomy and independence to best prepare them for their
impending transition to tertiary study and work.
Feedback from student surveys has provided very positive
            results regarding the program.
“Over my time in the Hale58 program, I have improved some
skills that were strong but now stronger. These skills include
