When discussing the need to recycle soft plastics, we decided Wendy Keene, Service Learning Coordinator
to focus on one area of the School first – the kitchen. After
having a look at the plastic use, the students addressed the
kitchen staff at a meeting and asked if they would get on board
with recycling soft plastic. The staff were impressed with the
students’ approach and initiative, so began dutifully recycling
soft plastics such as bread bags and packaging wrappers into
the new Cleanaway soft plastics bin.
