          Adam Marjoram (2003-10)
When Adam retired from racing V8 Supercars in 2019, he didn’t envisage being
back behind the wheel so soon. At the end of July, Adam came out of retirement,
making his return to motorsport by debuting in Round 4 of the V8 SuperUtes
series in South Australia. After only completing 10 laps in any race car during his
retirement, it didn’t take long to dust off the cobwebs, securing pole position on
the first day. Adam then proceeded to win the next two races, securing an overall
          win for the round.
As for a permanent return to motorsport, Adam is enjoying retirement. However,
          he said:
“The weekend lit the fire in the belly to make a return
and if the right opportunity comes up, I will grab it
           with both hands.”

              FOOTY TIPPING COMPETITION

As the colloquial phrase goes, the competition isn’t over until the fat lady sings, and that certainly rang true for this
year’s footy tipping competition. There wasn’t much in it between the top contenders leading into the grand final round.
Congratulations must go to Chris Normoyle (1973-74) who snuck past two worthy contenders in Ian Stone (1970-74)
and Harrison East (2012-17) to take out first prize by hedging his bets and backing Geelong over Sydney to win the flag.
All Old Haleians are eligible to join our competition run through ESPNfootytips. It is free to enter and there are some
great prizes up for grabs. Details of how to sign up for next season can be found on our Old Haleian website
