Inspired by legendary Old Haleian Antarctic explorer Syd Kirkby (1944–50) AO MBE, the Old Haleians’ Association is inviting expressions of interest for an extraordinary expedition to Antarctica in January 2028.
Departing from Argentina on 8 January 2028, the 10-day, nine-night expedition, open to Old Haleians and/or their families, will visit the spectacular Antarctic Peninsula and South Shetland Islands aboard the Terra Nova Adventurer. The expedition will return to Argentina nine days later, on 17 January 2028.
Coordinated by Mike Wood AM from Peregrine Travel and Greg Harvey, Head of Outdoor Education at Hale School, the adventure promises far more than spectacular scenery. Each day brings opportunities to explore one of the world’s most remote and remarkable environments, from kayaking through icy waters and snowshoeing across pristine landscapes to Zodiac cruising alongside towering glaciers and encountering incredible Antarctic wildlife.
An experienced expedition team of polar experts and scientists will provide daily excursions, lectures and expert guidance, offering passengers the chance to learn more about Antarctica’s extraordinary environment and history.
